Ma’Khia Bryant’s Foster Mom Says That The Fatal Incident Started Over An Argument About House Chores
Ma’Khia Bryant’s foster mom has provided more details into what happened before the 16-year-old was fatally shot by the police. As previously reported, On Tuesday (April 20th) Bryant was killed by a Columbus, Ohio policeman after she called the cops seeking help against a group of girls who allegedly showed up at her home to harm her. According to initial reports of the tragic incident, Bryant was holding a knife as a means to protect herself from the girls when she was shot. In a recent interview with CNN Bryant’s foster mom, Angela Moore, revealed that the fight started over house chores. According to Moore, On April 20th two of her former foster children visited her home for a birthday celebration when Bryant started to fuss with others about cleaning.
“It was over keeping the house clean. The older one told them to clean up the house because ‘Mom doesn’t like the house dirty.’”
She added,
“So that’s how it all started,”
Moore also shared that even though her foster children “argue all the time,” she “never thought it would escalate like that.”
Moore was at work when the argument took place and received a panicked call from one of the former foster children who got into the altercation with Ma’Khia Bryant. According to Moore, the young lady told her,
“‘Mom, get home! Where are you? They’re going crazy! She said ‘They shot Ma’Kiah’ and I said, ‘Huh?’ It was just crazy.”
When Moore arrived home she was informed by the police that 16-year-old Ma’Khia Bryant had died. Moore said,
“She was fun. She liked to dance. She did chores around the house.”
She added,
“I never in my worst nightmare would have thought it would ever come to this,”
Our thoughts and prayers are with the loved ones of Ma’Khia Bryant.
