According to Essence, actress Nia Long will be exclusively delivering a powerful tell-all about the “better” and “worse” of being one of the most-celebrated ladies in Hollywood.

The forthcoming memoir, scheduled to be published by Gallery Books imprint 13a, is reportedly set to explore Nia Long’s decades-long career… beyond the flashing cameras and red carpets. Readers can also expect a candid look into her journey through motherhood, social advocacy, and self-awareness.

When speaking of the anticipated book of reflections, the 52-year-old told the outlet,

“I am thrilled to have found a home for my memoir at Gallery and 13a. My steps to finding divine purpose have been thoughtful and intentional. For better or worse, you will find truth and transparency in the storytelling, sprinkled with 90s nostalgia.”

With an illustrious résumé in the film/TV field, Long’s classic contribution to the industry has (without a doubt) deemed her a legend of the art.

You may have first grown familiar with the Brooklyn native during one of her earlier characters in a 1986 episode of NBC’s sitcom 227, which starred the honorable Marla Gibbs and Jackée Harry.

However, from there, Long hustled her way up the acting ladder in the 1990s/2000s, taking on a number of roles that serve as staples in Black cinema today.

Along with ‘Boyz in the Hood’ and ‘Love Jones,’ the 4-time NAACP winner is widely known for her groundbreaking work in ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,‘ ‘Friday,‘ ‘Soul Food,‘ and ‘The Best Man,‘ among a list of others.

Long took to her Instagram to express her gratitude for having the opportunity to bring her anticipated biography to the shelves.

With the headline of the Essence article attached, she wrote in a caption,

“The best chapter is the next chapter! Incredibly grateful for my kick a** team.”

As you may know, it’s been a rocky past year for Long, who recently went through a notorious split from her former partner, NBA coach Ime Udoka.

Controversy struck after Ime Udoka was exposed for having an affair with one of his then-Boston Celtics female colleagues in 2022.

Looks like Jessica White is done with Nick Cannon…for real this time.

Last week the fashion model pinned a lengthy (now-deleted) open letter to her ex Nick Cannon via her IG page. In the post, Jessica White claimed the famed TV host was “upset” that she joined the cast of “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta,” despite the fact that she’d given him “eight ride or die years” of her life. She also said she “prayed every day” for Nick Cannon to return the love she showed him. However, they instead “learned how to hurt each other” as things between them became more toxic.

Jessica White’s post came as a shock to some, mainly because just a few weeks prior Nick praised the socialite during an interview with Hollywood Unlocked’s Jason Lee. In part, he said,

“That woman has overcome so much, and is just a light and an angel to so many, who operates on a higher frequency.”

Last year she was also featured on the steamy cover of Nick’s “Raw&B” album.

However, at this point, it seems Jessica White and Nick Cannon are no longer in a good place. During Jessica’s latest chat with journalist Tashara Jones for Page Six, she shared that she’s never getting back with the “Drumline” actor. According to Jessica, she experienced emotional abuse while dating Nick. She said,

“I went through an emotionally abusive relationship, and everybody goes through it,”

The reality TV star continued,

“I am just the first person in Hollywood to talk about it, and not try to make a pretty picture of it. I don’t want to be perfect.”

Jessica also touched on her revealing IG post aimed at Nick and said,

“I probably regret that [because] I should have saved it for the f–king book, and got paid for it,”

The Victoria’s Secret runway model continued and shared that fans shouldn’t expect her to say too much about what occurred between herself and the father-of-12 in her upcoming book. After noting his part “would be very short,” she expressed,

“I think if you put it in a book, he would be half a chapter. A half a chapter is still too long.”

Jessica White and Nick Cannon have (seemingly) had a rocky relationship. As you may recall, during a 2021 interview, Jessica shared that after she suffered a miscarriage she learned via Instagram Nick got someone else pregnant while they were still together.

 Update: Taxstone Speaks Out After Being Sentenced To 35 Years Over Fatal Shooting Of Troy Ave’s Bodyguard: ‘If Someone Attacks You Just Die If You Don’t Prefer Jail’

Update #3: (Jun. 21, 2023): Taxstone has taken to Twitter to share his side of things after being sentenced to 35 years behind bars for his involvement in the fatal 2016 shooting of Troy Ave‘s bodyguard, Ronald “Banga” McPhatter.

In a series of tweets, the former rapper-turned-media-personality slammed New York City and the government for the verdict. He also defended his decision to use his firearm during his dispute with Troy Ave. He wrote,

“Just got 35 years for being victimized and reversing the situation the beauty in it all is ..I’m not doing 35. Be safe tho.”

He continued,

“Do not protect yourself in NYC if someone attacks you just die if you don’t prefer jail”

He added,

“How can you testify in open court that you and your friend decided to beat me up then beat me up and I protected myself and u claim self defense ??? Where’s the republicans when you need them …”

Seemingly very confident that he’s going to beat the lengthy sentencing, Taxstone then said,

“Don’t worry my appeal will be swift”

When a Twitter user advised Taxstone to calm down to avoid making “anymore enemies in tha government,” he replied,

“F*ck the government”

The podcaster continued with,

“Nobody will ever think they gone hit me with a gun and I’m gonna respond with prayer and wine Nobody so idgaf. What NYC feel about it”

He added,

“They wanted me to be on a T shirt ! Nah you be on that T shirt !!!!”

Update #2: (Jun. 20, 2023): Taxstone has officially been sentenced for his involvement in the fatal 2016 shooting of Troy Ave‘s bodyguard, Ronald “Banga” McPhatter.

As you may recall, the shooting occurred backstage at a T.I. concert. The dispute between Troy Ave and Taxstone, unfortunately, ended with McPhatter being shot in the chest. Today (Jun. 20) reporter Matthew Russell Lee — who was present during the hearing — shared that Taxstone was sentenced to 35 years in prison for McPhatter’s death and “the injuring of Troy Ave and two others,” who were also struck by bullets.

Update #1: (Mar. 24, 2023): New details have surfaced in the case surrounding the 2016 shooting of Troy Ave‘s bodyguard, Ronald McPhatter.

According to reports, Yesterday (Mar. 23) Taxstone (real name Daryl Campbell) was convicted on manslaughter, assault, and weapon possession charges for his involvement in the fatal shooting of BSB affiliate Ronald “Banga” McPhatter.

Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg said in a press release,

“Campbell was convicted of killing a man and shooting three others during a tragic and deadly confrontation in a packed New York City music venue. In addition to seriously injuring his rival and killing his rival’s bodyguard, Mr. Campbell shot innocent bystanders and put hundreds of other lives at risk.”

As previously reported, the incident occurred backstage at a T.I. concert. At some point, Troy Ave (real name Roland Collins) and Taxstone’s dispute turned deadly, with McPhatter being shot in the chest. As the two men fought over the firearm, Troy Ave was shot in both his legs and two bystanders were also shot during the fight, prosecutors said.

Sentencing will take place in April.

Original story: (Mar. 15, 2023): Troy Ave has made one thing clear: He’s never going down without a fight.

The Brooklyn-born artist (real name Roland Collins) gave jurors in a Manhattan courtroom on Monday (Mar. 13) a compelling account of his 2016 life-or-death struggle with rival Taxstone. Troy Ave detailed how he battled Taxstone (real name Daryl Campbell) for the weapon the latter used to shoot and kill his bodyguard during the altercation.

Troy Ave recalled squabbling with Taxstone, a hip-hop podcaster, over the gun, noting how it appeared as though the two were competing in a high school wrestling match.

Troy said,

“If it’s fight or flight, I’m always going to fight because at that point you could die.”

He told the jury that is when his enemy shot him in both legs — and it all went down backstage at a T.I. concert.

The rapper recalled,

“When the shot goes off I see the light from the spark and I hear the shot. This is all happening fast. I get up and start fighting Taxstone, trying to take him, grab the gun, and another shot goes off. I put my leg up to kind of block the shot from hitting me in the face or chest.”

Troy claimed that when he eventually got his hands on the weapon and had his fleeing rival in his sights, the weapon misfired. He then realized that Ronald “Banga” McPhatter, his friend and security, was lying face down on the ground.

Troy said,

“I rolled his body over and I’m like, ‘Banga, get up. Come on.’ I’m smacking him, … And his eyes were rolling to the back of his head. His shirt was red so I could tell he got shot.”

Troy was originally charged with attempted murder and gun possession for his part in the incident, which also left two spectators injured. He is currently on trial for murder, attempted murder, assault, and possession of firearms. The rapper’s lawyer claims prosecutors offered him a one-year sentence — instead of the 15 years he could’ve faced — in return for his testimony on Monday.

Police claimed to have discovered Taxstone‘s DNA on the 9 mm handgun used in the shooting, and he was charged in January 2017.

Update: (Jun. 20, 2023): Russell Simmons has responded to the serious allegations from his (estranged) family.

Unless you’re living under a rock, you’re probably aware that yesterday (Jun. 19) Kimora Lee Simmons and her daughter Aoki Lee set the internet on fire by calling out Russell Simmons for his “awful” behavior and verbal abuse. Both models shared their own stories about the alleged ill-treatment they’ve received from the famed businessman over the years.

On Sunday (Jun. 18), Russell’s oldest daughter Ming Lee seemingly exposed him as well by sharing a post online wishing her mother a happy Father’s Day.

Russell has taken to his own media account to address what his daughters and ex-wife had to say. In a caption of an image featuring Aoki and Ming, he wrote,

“God is testing you a little bit, it’s ok, be strong. . . they are called growing pains . . . as you know, we grow through adversity and struggle . . . you read my books and heard me preach your whole childhood . . . reach back to old lessons and remember to remember “smile and breathe” [heart emoji] “smile and breathe” . . .”

He continued,

“you are the watchers of this world . . . so let go . . . be at ease . . . God is driving and he is working on you [heart emoji] DEEPLY sorry for being frustrated and yelling . . .but know this . . . there are no conditions . . . for sure i love you guys more than i love myself”

Original story: (Jun. 19, 2023): It looks like things are pretty chaotic in the Simmons family.

It appears that Father’s Day triggered some unpleasant emotions. It all began when Ming Lee –Kimora Lee Simmons and Russell Simmons’ 23-year-old daughter – took to her Instagram story yesterday (Jun. 18) to wish her mother a “Happy Father’s Day,” seemingly throwing shade at her own father.

It didn’t take long before Russell Simmons caught wind of his daughter’s post. He then shared a cryptic message about mothers who keep their children away from their fathers, seemingly directing it to his ex-wife.

On Monday (June 19), Kimora Lee Simmons took to Instagram Live to blast her ex. She explained that the issues with Russell Simmons run deep and that he and the kids have had a rocky relationship in recent years, which includes him verbally attacking them. Kimora said he sends flowers to himself but lies online that they’re from her. She also alleged that he’s “at rock bottom.”

Soon after, their youngest daughter Aoki Lee Simmons tearfully took to Instagram Live to share her side of the story and detail her father’s behavior and verbal abuse. Aoki said that her father has been “awful” towards her and even financially cut her off because she asked him to stop speaking ill about her mom. According to the Harvard graduate, when Russell Simmons gets mad, he’ll call her and her sister “b*tches like their mother.”

Aoki also shared a string of alleged text messages between her and Russell detailing their estranged relationship and his erratic behavior. In one of the text messages, Aoki stated that she had to stop speaking with her father because it would give her panic attacks and she could no longer handle the constant yelling and cursing.

Aoki and the family seem to think something is “severely wrong” with Russell Simmons and that he may be “experiencing something like dementia.”

John Amos’ Daughter’s GoFundMe Started To Help Actor Recover From Alleged Elder Abuse Was Removed After Raising Over $13K

The accusations between John Amos and his daughter Shannon Amos continue to live another day.

As previously reported, Shannon Amos recently came forward with claims that her dad was a victim of elder abuse. According to Shannon, John Amos had been hospitalized, allegedly following a near-death experience, and needed money after suffering from abuse and financial exploitation. She launched a GoFundMe to raise funds for her father’s expenses and shared during an IG live that part of the proceeds would go towards getting housing and legal representation for John Amos.

However, the “Good Times” actor soon released a statement against his daughter’s accusations and essentially expressed he was doing just fine and wasn’t sure why the GoFundMe was started on his behalf.

Shannon then took to her social accounts again and said her dad may be embarrassed that she made his alleged situation public but her actions were done with his best interest in mind. Despite Shannon standing firm on her claims, the GoFundMe – which reportedly raised over $13K of its $500K goal – was recently removed.

As if the initial conflicting stories weren’t confusing enough, last week the 83-year-old entertainer accused Shannon herself of being behind the elder abuse in a video shared online by his son, K.C. Amos.

From a hospital bed, he said,

“She would be the primary suspect — if you would. I don’t know if that’s the right term to use or not. But she’s the one that I would attribute my elderly abuse to. It’s definitely a case of elderly abuse.”

However, some fans of John expressed in the comment section of the clip that they believe K.C. is the one taking advantage of the TV star. One person questioned how Shannon could be the abuser when she lives outside of America and only recently returned to help her dad amid his reported troubles. They wrote,

“How was your sister abusing your father and taking his money and assets when she has been outside the country? Why did your father call your sister complaining of being in pain and needing medical attention? Why did your sister send someone to your fathers aid until she could get a flight back into the country to tend to her father who was ill? Why haven’t you showed us proof that she has been sending you death threats? However, you didn’t hesitate to have your father implicate your sister as the person responsible for all his troubles which I might add appears to be fishy…..We didn’t hear the entire phone call.”

Update: (Jun. 15, 2023): YK Osiris has issued a public apology to Sukihana for seemingly trying to forcibly kiss her. In a post shared to his Instagram account, he wrote,

“In an attempt to be playful, I misread the moment and violated Sukihana’s boundaries. I understand the importance of consent and I am embarrassed by my behavior. I take full responsibility and have made multiple attempts to apologize.”

“I have the utmost admiration for Sukihana and it was never my intention to disrespect her.”

Sukihana has yet to address his apology. However, she did deactivate her Twitter account yesterday (Jun. 14) after sharing that she was scared to stand up for herself. She wrote,

“I am hurt and I am scared to stand up for myself”

Original story: (Jun. 14, 2023): Sukihana is dealing with a lot of hurt after YK Osiris seemingly tried to force a kiss on her.

A video has recently hit the internet that seemingly shows YK Osiris, 24, trying to forcibly kiss fellow rapper Sukihana, 31. The unwarranted incident reportedly occurred over the weekend at The Crew League event in Atlanta. In the footage, Sukihana is sitting at the host table when YK Osiris comes up behind her and starts to rub her shoulders. He then turns Sukihana’s face towards him as he bends down and attempts to kiss her. During the entire situation, Sukihana appears to be very uncomfortable. However, despite her seemingly saying “no” and turning her face away, YK Osiris goes in for another kiss attempt. He then walks away laughing. Unfortunately, the clip doesn’t show any of the male hosts at the table intervening to help Suki.

Since the footage has made its way online, many have called out YK Osiris, born Osiris Williams, accusing him of sexual harassment. Suki has seemingly addressed what happened via Twitter and said,

“I drink to hide that I’m very sensitive. I feel things more then the average person. I stopped drinking yesterday but today I’ve been crying all day. I asked God to strengthen me and use me to help others and to order my steps in his word. I just want to go away for awhile.”

She later added,

“I am hurt and I am scared to stand up for myself”

Earlier today (Jun. 14) Amber Rose, who is known for advocating for women’s rights, shared a message online in support of Suki, real name Destiny Henderson. She wrote,

“Are we really going to sit back and let this happen to Sukihana??? She was sexually assaulted and no one did anthing [sic]!!! This is the entertainment business and she is an entertainer!!!”

She continued,

“Using her lyrics and her persona as an excuse to physically touch her and force her without her consent is absolutely disgusting. What happened to “protect Black women”??? I cried watching that video and I’m sure a lot of women have as well.”

People are also rallying around Suki due to a resurfaced interview she had with Kandi Burruss and her co-host DJ Aone for the YouTube series “Kandi Koated Live.” During the conversation, DJ Aone made a few questionable remarks toward the rap star and even said,

“I want to put my face in your p*ssy.”

The socialite recently shared images from her big day with her 91.5K Instagram followers. The wedding occurred in Eminem’s hometown of Detroit, Michigan. In one of the pictures, Alaina and her now-husband Matt Moeller can’t help but smile big as they show off their sparkling wedding rings. Another post shows the couple walking into an event hall after tying the knot as their loved ones cheer them on. The caption reads,

“Might have missed the Taylor Swift concert in Detroit, but it was worth it. Officially in my wife era.”

Eminem’s biological daughter Hailie Jade was a part of the bridal party. You may recall that Eminem adopted Alaina in the early 2000s from his ex-wife Kim Scott’s sister, Dawn, who struggled with substance abuse. Reportedly, Dawn, unfortunately, died of an overdose in 2016.

It’s unclear if Eminem attended the wedding. However, during a previous interview with Mike Tyson that occurred a few years ago, the famed rapper took a moment to praise his children. He said,

Normally the web show is well-received, however, a clip from the segment has resurfaced online that has landed Kandi in the hot seat. In February, Kandi and DJ Aone sat down for a conversation with rapper Sukihana. During the interview, DJ Aone made a few sexually explicit comments towards the “Grinch” artist, such as “I can tell by your walk that p*ssy spit.” He continued,

“I want to smell your p*ssy. I want to put my face in your p*ssy.”

After Kandi (seemingly) laughed off his remarks and said “you are aggressive!”

The media personality replied,

Insiders claim the (alleged) recent split between NeNe Leakes (real name Linnethia Leakes) and Nyonisela Sioh was amicable, however, the former reality television star has uploaded a slew of stories indicating otherwise. According to RadarOnline, she’s shared several posts about narcissists, including one that read:

“Narcissists do not have the ability to self reflect. They cannot see anything wrong with what they do and they only see fault in your reaction. They believe every argument is caused by you, because, to them, there was no problem with their action until you reacted to them. They 100% believe you are the problem and they are the victim.”

NeNe Leakes has yet to speak directly on the breakup rumors, but she did recently address people asking her to comment on “that subject.” In a video shared to her IG stories, she said,

“I kind of don’t [need to comment.] I am moving into my soft era and my main focus is my happiness. And I’m not the kind of person that holds grudges. Like any human, you get mad for a little while but then after that, you know, I kind of like to let it go and kind of just let God and move on.”

After sharing that for most of her life she’s been responsible for other people she added,

“I just want to for once, just be kind of in my soft era [and] maybe [have] somebody take care of me. I’m not sure, we’ll see what happens.” 

NeNe Leakes has also cleared her social media profiles of all photos featuring Nyonisela Sioh — the CEO of Nyoni Couture — whom she was first romantically linked to in December 2021. At the time, Sioh was married to Malomine Tehmeh-Sioh. In May 2022, Malomine filed a $100,000 lawsuit against NeNe, alleging the reality star had an affair with her husband. She claimed to be in distress and accused NeNe of dissolving her and Sioh‘s union.

However, Sioh reportedly listed September 19, 2021, as the date of separation in his divorce petition.

Sioh has been NeNe‘s first public love interest since her marriage to her two-time husband Gregg Leakes. NeNe was married to Gregg Leakes for several decades before he died in September 2021 at the age of 66 after a battle with colon cancer.

R. Kelly — Woman Who Accuses Singer Of Giving Her Herpes Wants Him To Hand Over Medical & Financial Records

R. Kelly may be compelled to hand over his medical information if one of his accusers has her way.

Faith Rodgers, who filed a lawsuit against the imprisoned musician in 2018 alleging that he failed to disclose a sexually transmitted disease before having intercourse with her, is requesting that he hands over his medical records. Rodgers requested a judge’s assistance in obtaining the information, according to RadarOnline.

Rodgers said in her lawsuit that she got herpes from R. Kelly (real name Robert Kelly).

Now, the victim wants R. Kelly to provide answers under oath regarding how they first met and how frequently they had sex. She’s also seeking a list of all the financial institutions where he has accounts.

In addition, she wants the musician to compile a record of all the credit cards he used between 2017 and 2019. The victim’s list of demands doesn’t end there. She wants Kelly to reveal all of the identities of any medical providers he used, and list any hospital or clinic where he received treatment between January 2017 and January 2019.

She also wants Kelly to acknowledge the fact that he did not disclose his STD to her before they engaged in sexual activity and that he coerced her into having sex with him against her will.

Rodger‘s lawsuit claims she crossed paths with Kelly after one of his concerts in Texas in 2017. She had just turned 19 years old.

The victim asserted that the embattled R&B singer flew her to New York for another event a few months later, where he forcibly touched her in a hotel room.

Rodgers alleges that Kelly started “unwanted sexual contact,” including “abusive sex.” She claims that the one-year relationship was filled with verbal and sexual abuse.

According to Rodgers, Kelly kept her tied up in rooms and had a female staffer keep an eye on her to make sure she didn’t escape.

Rodgers says in her lawsuit that she got herpes from Kelly. Unspecified damages for sexual battery and false detention are sought in the claim.
